The Senior Quantity Surveyor for Dispute Resolution Services will work for a national Chartered Quantity Surveying practice which provides bespoke profitable support, cost management and contractual services to the building industry. The Senior Quantity Surveyor for Dispute Resolution Services will be qualified, preferably to degree level. Ideally, you will have a RICS Professional membership along with good communication skills, strong character with a good sense of humour, be results driven and commercially astute. 


Person Specification
As a team player and a reasoned decision maker, the Senior QS for Dispute Resolution Services should be assertive without being aggressive, proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude and able to prioritise and focus on the tasks at hand. It is expected that you will have a high level of IT skills, good technical skills, able to understand technical documents and interpret contracts. A background in construction law would be good but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be the point person for all Dispute Resolution Services, providing the resource and consultative expertise to assist the Company’s clients with claims or disputes. You will attend meetings, support the directors and represent the Company in a professional manner, building strong working relationships with existing and new clients.

Key Tasks

  • Claim preparation including Extensions of Time and Loss & / or Expense
  • Legal  Assistance
  • Expert witness including the preparation of Quantum Reports
  • Adjudication / mediation / expert determination
  • Insurance industry support including valuation assessments
  • DR training courses
  • Contract advice, reviews of standard form contract amendments/ bespoke contracts
  • Project monitoring / project audits
  • Account support including variation / final account preparation, negotiation and agreement
  • Construction advice including measurement,  pricing,  procurement

General tasks:

  • Form good relationships with all parties 
  • Actively promote the Company’s image 
  • Compliance with the Company and their clients’ management systems
  • Administration including managing drawings, copying and filing paperwork 
  • Any other duties which are reasonable.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
