Description :

Our Client is part of a large building products group and is the UK`s leading manufacturer of clay building products, serving all sectors of the construction industry and is renowned for being innovative and forward thinking. They have 26 manufacturing sites across the UK.

They are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer – Electrical who will report into the Director of Manufacturing Development. The job holder will be based at the nearest manufacturing facility nearest to where they live. The position is permanent.

Reporting into the Director of Manufacturing Development, the successful applicant will join our clients Process Improvement Team, providing engineering and technical support to our clients factories on capital investment projects, TPM initiatives, efficiency enhancements, problem solving and other aspects of process improvement.

You will provide technical expertise on a range of engineering issues, and specifically the installation and operation of electrical control systems for kilns, dryers and brick manufacturing machinery.
You will carry out project management of defined capex projects.
You will liaise and negotiate with suppliers and the appointment and control of contractors.
You will carry out the collection and analysis of downtime data and its use to deliver process optimisation.
You will carry on the continued development of standardised methodologies and protocols for electrical control and safety within our clients business.

The position will involve travel to all parts of the UK.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ideally you will be an accomplished Process Improvement Engineer with a strong electrical control systems background.

Your practical experience should be supported by recognised qualification in electrical engineering. Ideally you will have a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.

You should have extensive proven experience in the design and installation of electrical control systems, to include significant expertise in the development of SCADA systems.

You should have knowledge and experience of Siemens S7.

Ideally you will have some project management experience.

You should possess well-developed numeracy and PC / IT skills.

You should have a demonstrable commitment to the continuous improvement ethic and to the use of TPM tools to improve manufacturing capability.

You will have a high degree of self-motivation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have an ability to meet deadlines and stay cool under pressure

You will be able to adjust to rapidly changing business environment.

You will be well organised, numerate, analytical and focussed.

You will be able to work in a team environment and be an effective team player.

You should possess a clean Drivers Licence.

Salary will be negotiable depending upon skillset and experience and likely to be in a range of £38-42k. In addition a car will be provided. Other benefits include 25 days holiday rising to 28 days plus bank and public holidays, pension and death in service benefit.
