Our client is the remote site and facilities management subsidiary of a Group whose operations span three continents and are a diversified retail and distribution and contract services and supply group, supported by a world-class integrated logistics capability.
They specialise in the wholesale, distribution and retail of food and beverages, and represents a leading portfolio of global household name brands.
Their remote site and facilities management subsidiary of caters to industries as diverse as NGOs, Mining, Infrastructure, and Oil and  Gas, with a focus on temporary structures, facilities management and food and  hospitality services in both onshore and offshore sectors.
They are currently seeking a French speaking Supply Chain Manager to be based in Port Gentil, Gabon, Africa. The position is permanent.
Reporting into our clients Gabon Country Manager, the successful candidate will manage the sourcing of products, conduct supplier negotiations, evaluate pricing, and will map out the supply chain, process purchase orders, administer inbound shipments, complete clearances all within set parameters in order to maximize margin, quality and service in order to meet the division, contract and customer requirements.
Specifically you will conduct sourcing requirements for both imported and local available products required by customers.
You will submit new sourcing opportunities or best buy decisions to senior management for approval.
You will ensure product files are maintained as per set operating procedures.
You will ensure internal procedures followed for changes to requested brands by customers and report changes.
You will complete set up of all purchasing parameters ensuring minimums and economic order quantities are achievable compared with expected requirements.
You will liaise closely with the supply chain team in relation to forecasts for potential demand of products taking into consideration the extreme volatility of customer requirements, current stocks and stock on order scenarios.
You will ensure records are available for catalogue changes.
You will target internal and contract performance levels (e.g. fill rates & socioeconomic incentives as per our internal and external clients program).
You will manage the purchase order requirements of the division by ensuring that all requirements are processed in a timely fashion and that RDD`s are met.
You will administer purchase orders with suppliers and follow-up.
You will work with US and African divisions on business development and bid projects.
You will conduct periodic catalogue reviews of products held, identifies opportunities to improve range/costing/service levels and sources potential suppliers through supplier contacts/trade journals/food shows/market research feedback etc.
You will promote integration initiatives with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency.
You will conduct supplier negotiations for terms of payment, service levels, product pricing, consolidation fees and operational requirements.
You will ensure supplier files are kept up-to-date and trade agreements are current.
You will negotiate aggressively with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain best prices and terms to include direct ship agreements to avoid third party consolidation costs.
You will complete periodic pricing and margin checks on all products ensuring the best possible product is being procured for the company and the customer.
You will ensure all product purchased, received, warehoused and delivered meets the acceptable quality requirements per USDA standards.
You will ensure that the Culture and Value Programme is understood and the same is communicated to all staff to enable them to live up to the values at all times.
You will follow all applicable policies and procedures required for the successful execution of the job.
You will follow our clients IMS policy and meet the requirements of the organizations Integrated Management System which is compliant to international standards for Quality ( ISO 9001), Food Safety ( ISO 22000) Occupational Health and Safety
(OHSAS 18001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 1400).
You will co-operate with both Internal and External Auditors.
Finally you will make recommendations for continual improvement and will support improvement initiatives the Company undertakes.
Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will be an accomplished French speaking Supply Chain / Purchasing Manager ideally with experience of working in CANA.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by a supply chain and or purchasing qualification.
In addition to your purchasing and supply background, you should have a good knowledge of remote sites and your experience should include experience of warehousing, transport and freight management, administration and a
