Description :
Reporting to Head Office. Manage the day to day responsibilities for the transport/logistics requirements of the depot.
Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.
Main Responsibilities
*To ensure that the depot can meet its contracted obligations for equipment on site, planning and arranging deliveries
*To monitor and report on availability and movements, highlighting potential problems
*Maintaining appropriate controls over the fleet
*Ensuring that vehicles are maintained and licensed in accordance with relevant legislation
*To attend review meetings to understand what is required
*To report any defect in vehicles and plant that may affect performance and safety
*Any other duties as required and deemed appropriate
Essential Skills
*Transport CPC Holder
*Attention to detail
*Tenacity to bring problems to a satisfactory conclusion
*Extensive experience of logistics management and efficient route planning
*Computer literate
*Good written English and Numeracy skills
Desirable Skills
*Knowledge of heavy plant and equipment, especially relating to rail operations
