Description :

Our Client is the world`s most comprehensive supplier of entrance automation solutions. With a holistic approach to the flow of people, goods and vehicles, they create solutions with the best possible balance of cost, quality and lifetime performance.
They supply Automatic doors, Industrial doors, High-performance doors, Hangar doors and Loading dock equipment.
They are now seeking a Service Engineer to be based in Hampshire. The position is permanent.
You will be working from home and will have a van provided for work use only.  The van will be fully stocked with tools and parts for the job.
You will be servicing and repairing industrial doors and docking systems and training will be provided both on the job and at a dedicated training centre in South Yorkshire.
You will be generally working independently, however you may be paired up with another Engineer for big jobs or those that require 2 people for health and safety reasons.
You will be provided with a PDA and a plan of field visits will be allocated to you for easy access.
Your overall responsibility is to carry out all work in accordance with the instructions issued by the Service Planners in a safe, cost effective manner, to the total satisfaction of our customers.
Specifically you will ensure that at all times work is undertaken to the standard set by our client and as expected by our clients customers.
You will ensure that customers are kept fully appraised of the progress of work undertaken on site, and advised when the work is completed.
You will ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with the Company`s Health and Safety Policy, and associated method statements and risk assessments, making sure that there is no risk to self or others.
You will ensure that product stock (Primarily stock in vans) is stored and handled correctly, accounted for correctly, reported accurately once used, and stock levels maintained at the correct levels.
You will ensure that all tools, equipment, and vehicles provided are maintained to the highest standard at all times, (Owned and hired), and is tested where required at appropriate intervals.
By doing what has been agreed you will provide at all times a reliable service to internal and external customers. Reporting always on completion, or when circumstances change that may affect future planned work.
You will adopt a \"can do\" approach with our clients customers.
You will ensure that  information is passed accurately, neatly, and promptly, to the Service Office in accordance with established processes
You will actively participate in training and personal development programmes arranged by the company.
You will provide feedback to management on how the company can improve the service offered to our clients  customers.
Finally you will professionally represent the Company to promote and enhance its reputation.
The hours are generally Monday – Friday 8am-4.30pm with a half an hour lunch break.
You will be required to be on call 1 week out of every 4 or 5 weeks and the on call allowance is £125 per week.  Overtime is paid at time and a third for any hours worked over the standard 8 hour working day.  You will also be paid time and a half for Saturdays and Double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays.  If called out and working any time between midnight and 8am, you will also receive double time.

Knowledge & Skills
You will be an accomplished Service Engineer with experience in the service and maintenance of doors, particularly industrial doors and have experience of hydraulic systems.
You will have the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
You will be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You should be professional and have excellent inter personal, customer service and customer facing skills.
A full clean driving licence is essential.
Salary will be in a range of between £20,000 – 23,000 per annum depending upon experience, however with overtime and stand by allowances the OTE will be around £30,000 – 32,000 per annum.

A company van will also be supplied as will all tools required to undertake tasks, company mobile telephone, PDA, uniform and PPE, 22 days holiday rising by a day for each year of service up to a maximum of 27 days and pension scheme.
