SW 8405:Academy Instructor - Control & Instrumentation
Salary:£26,000-£30,000
Location:Solent

My client operates an Engineering Training Academy in the Solent area and wishes to appoint an Instructor from an C&I background to train apprentices on NVQ and BTEC Programmes.
We strongly encourage applications from candidates with experience in Mech/Elec or purely Electrical type apprenticeship in most types of Engineering Industries (Electrical Fitter type of apprenticeship that would have been gained in the Dockyard for example).
Main Responsibilities:
*The development of NVQ and/or BTEC programmes in readiness for delivery
*Demonstrate and support good practice through innovative teaching and learning strategies
*Promote the sharing of ideas across the Academy to support objectives in becoming an \"outstanding\" provider
*Participate in internal verification activities to ensure compliance and standardisation across the Academy
*Champion a partnering approach to both business and management of people; know and understand the key business value of partnering and apply it to both internal and external customers and stakeholders
*Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
*Ensure all delivery complies with all internal and external quality measures
*Implement monitoring and evaluation of team delivery
*Ensure the team use agreed best practice delivery solutions to enhance the delivery
*Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with the Company Equality and Diversity Policy

Experience and Qualifications:

*Attained an appropriate HNC / HND / Degree.
*Experience gained within a Manufacturing & Maintenance environment would be of an advantage, whereby a lot of the training they will deliver will be centred around maintenance and monitoring of engineering systems.
*A strong mathematical aptitude and an understanding of Electrical and or Electro - Mechanical principles would also be a benefit.
*Experience of programme development and design
*Competent teacher / instructor with experience of delivering level 2 programmes in the engineering sector (particularly PEO level 2)
And / Or competent teacher / instructor with experience of delivering level 3 programmes in the engineering sector (particularly BTEC National)
*Champions the role of programme and project management in the organisation and maintains an effective relationship with the relevant subject matter experts
*Literate in Microsoft Office applications
*Must hold or be working towards ATLS / QTLS
*Innovative approach to work, adopting a flexible, positive attitude - creating solutions & thinking flexibly
