Our client is an expanding privately owned delivered foodservice and fast food wholesaler. They are currently seeking a Warehouse & Transport Supervisor for their depot in North Wiltshire.
The position is based close to the M4 corridor and the position is permanent.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on supervisor to lead a well-established team and contribute to the success of the depot.
As Supervisor you will be responsible in assisting the Operations Manager in managing all aspects of the depots operations in order to ensure that operational and service standards are met and customer relationships maintained.
Specifically you will be responsible for the day to day management of all the distribution operations at the depot, including staff, drivers and vehicles.
You will ensure the enforcement of the Company’s delivery procedures.
You will be responsible for the effective management of the depot teams ensuring effective leadership and development of employees to meet business requirements.
You will be expected to improve the depot’s performance standards and will implement best practice initiatives, as directed.
You will develop and maintain excellent relationships, both externally with customers and with your internal customers.
Knowledge and Skills:
To succeed, you should have warehouse and distribution supervisory / management experience within a fast moving wholesaling / retail distribution environment, ideally gained within the foodservice sector.
You should have a good record of warehouse and transport experience, coupled with a sound grasp of current practice and health and safety legislation.
You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership, excellent people management and communication skills.
You should be self-motivated, someone who can coach and inspire others with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
You will be a problem solver with a common sense approach and will be self-motivated, committed to being the best and proactive in delivering improvements.
You will be flexible in approach and able to adapt quickly to change and have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities.
You should possess strong pc skills, particularly in Excel.
You will be flexible and committed to providing excellence in all aspects, with a keen eye for detail.
You should be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach when planning and able to react to day to day challenge.
Ideally you will be someone who has aspirations for career progression.
Speaking Polish is an advantage but not a necessity
You must hold a valid forklift license.
A class 2 HGV license is an advantage but not a necessity
Basic salary will be in a range of £20-25k depending upon your experience.
