Description :

Our client is a specialist sales and distribution business. They are currently seeking an Operations Manager to manage our clients site in North Wales. The position is permanent.
Reporting into the Operations Director, you will plan, organise, direct and control the operations of the depot ( transport, warehouse and stock  ) via your leadership teams.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the site and be responsible for the depot operational plans – establish and review distribution plans, responsible for budgets and KPI’s/performance targets.
You will have financial control within budgetary remit – distribution/warehouse operational efficiency.
You will ensure all Health & Safety and Legal obligations are met and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for establishing and implementing training and development plans.
You will effectively lead a multi-disciplined workforce through a flat management structure and you will ensure that the relevant department heads maintain focus on operational efficiency.
Finally you will be responsible for creating a “best in class” distribution operation and a strategic plan in line with Company growth plans which will deliver a competitive advantage for our client.

Knowledge and Skills:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Operations (Transport and Warehousing) Manager with intimate knowledge of the logistics industry within a fast moving time sensitive environment.
You should have proven leadership, management and change management experience in a distribution business and held a compromable management position in another logistics organization.
You will have strong financial and commercial acumen, high energy levels, and excellent customer relationship skills.  
Perhaps above all else, the ideal candidate will have highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to motivate those around them to perform to the highest possible levels.
You will preferably be a CPC holder but in any event must have a strong knowledge of transport legislation.
You will have natural leadership qualities, previously managing   teams through times of change, and be able to remain calm under pressure.
Your work experience should ideally be supported by a qualification in either a logistics or operational doctrine.
You should be experienced in change management, and excellent inter-personal skills are essential as is an innovative and analytical approach.
Above all you must have the natural ability and courage to drive change, maintain morale and deliver results.
You should be IT / PC and systems literate particularly WMS.
Basic salary will be around £30,000 per annum plus bonus. Benefits include a pension scheme and 20 days holiday plus bank and public holidays.
