Description
* Job: Falconer / Pest Bird Controller. Pest control operative using trained falconry birds to control pest bird species. No experience is required as full training and animal husbandry courses will be provided. The position involves travelling throughout the South West. Applicants must therefore have a full driving licence. Van provided. The successful applicant should be aware that after full training and passing of examinations, he/she will be required to keep a hawk at their own place of residence. As such, a secure/ enclosed garden area is essential for the welfare of the bird. All equipment including aviaries will be supplied. This position also involves carrying out other bird control duties including shooting, cleaning of fouling resultant from pest bird species and the fitting of bird control devices such as nets. General constuction and engineering skills are a much desired preference. Working alone and responsibility for organising your own schedule and work times.
The applicant shall be self motivated and enthusiastic, customer service skills are required.
Applicant must have numerance skills and be competent to use microsoft word and spreadsheets in computer and tablet formats.
Operator will be required to complete service reports and as such good grammar and writing skills are essential. This is not a 9-5 position the applicant must be willing to conduct out of hours work and early starts, late finishes etc.
The successful applicant will be working with a small team of dedicated falconers, this dream job requires an extraordinary person.
The salary indicated is before tax (gross) and exceeds the national living wage.
