A leading Lancashire-based electrical contracting company with a history exceeding 30 years requires 17th Edition-qualified Maintenance Electricians to join their expanding reactive and planned maintenance team servicing over 200 clients, UK-wide.
Maintenance Electricians will be required to work throughout the UK with occasional requirements to stay in subsidised overnight accommodation for up to two weeks at a time. Applicants must therefore be flexible in terms of preparedness to work away from home on a semi-regular basis.
Candidates must possess 17th Edition certification.
Applications from ex-military candidates possessing relevant experience are encouraged.
OVERVIEW
Maintenance Electricians will be required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on existing installations within a retail environment, focusing on lighting systems. This will involve re-lamping existing fittings, replacement of control gear, installation of new light fittings and control gear, Fault finding on 3-Phase systems, control circuits and carrying out periodic inspections.
A company vehicle and tools are provided.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintenance Engineers MUST:
Have experience working with various lighting types and control gear. i.e. internal external Ballast replacements, re-lamping, fluorescent fittings, metal halide, LED and emergency lighting;
Possess good working knowledge of lighting control systems, PIRs, time clocks, contactors, relays and lighting control circuits;
Be experienced in fault-finding on all aspects of electrical systems;
Possess 17th Edition certification;
Be qualified to carry out periodic inspections of existing electrical systems (City and Guilds 2391 or 2395)
Have Level 3 NVQ in Electro Technical Technology (City and Guilds 2357/2330 or equivalent qualification(s))
Experience with fire alarms installation, maintenance and fault finding is preferable but not essential.
Experience in Building Management Systems is preferred but not essential.
TRAVEL & OVERNIGHT STAYS
Area of work is highly varied as the whole of the UK and Ireland are covered. Maintenance Electricians must be prepared to work alone as well as in a team. This role will involve working away for up to 2 weeks at a time on a semi-regular basis, with accommodation provided. Maintenance Electricians must be prepared to be flexible with working hours as some services offered to clients can only be completed outside of their normal operating hours and will require some work to be completed overnight.
SALARY
£25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience. Overtime and incentive bonuses are available.
