They are currently seeking a Vehicle Parts Materials Control Supervisor to be based at Kandahar International Airport, Afghanistan. The position is offered on a 12 month renewable contract.
Reporting into a Project Manager, you will be responsible for all stock control, inventory management, and materials sorting/identification/retrograde/warehousing in support of the Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance (EVM) program.
You will supervise and be responsible for all aspects of ordering, receiving, storing and issuing of spare parts needed for the repair of vehicle assets.
You will supervise functions such as supply policies and procedures, property accounting, stock and inventory control, accountability and responsibility, principles of property accounting through manual or automated data processing.
Knowledge and Skills:
You will be an accomplished Materials Control Supervisor ideally with experience within an equipment and vehicle maintenance facility.
Ideally your practical work experience will be supported by a qualification in mechanical engineering.
For this role you will ideally be a US Citizen, have a valid United States Secret Security Clearance and have ability to obtain a US Common Access Card (CAC).
You should have experience of maintenance management, military/tactical support, or related field.
You should have knowledge and experience of supply policies and procedures, stock and inventory control and principles of property accounting through manual or automated data processing.
You should also have knowledge and experience of storage methods, warehouse control including receipt, issue, and disposal, materials handling techniques, methods of preparing and maintaining supply records, manual and automated supply accounting systems, logistics principles and interactions including supply, maintenance, transportation, and procurement.
You should possess excellent inter-personal skills and leadership skills.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
Finally, you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC literate with MS Office, e mail and the Internet.
This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance Fleet Analyst or Administrator looking for something different.
The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, medical / health insurances and meals are all provided free. In addition, you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will work 4 months on, 2 weeks off.
In addition, Ex-Patriate employees will receive paid return economy flights when commencing and returning from their R and R. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
