Job Title: Logistics and Stores Co-ordinator Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Salary: £Negotiable DOE  Start Date: Immediate

Introduction:

Our client based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire is a specialist in Wireless Communication Systems. They design, supply, install and maintain communication systems for a wide range of professional organisations predominantly within the UK. They are now looking to recruit a Logistics and Stores Co-ordinator to join a successful team. The role involves the careful handling of wireless products predominantly manufactured by Motorola, the market leader in this field. The successful candidate is accountable to facilitate the receiving and storing, moving and shipping of supplies, stock and materials, effectively managing the timely flow of order processing, incoming Service and Hire maintenance work.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company, and although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the armed forces i.e. Royal Navy (Logistician/Stores Accountant), Army (RLC/Royal Logistics Corps), or Royal Air Force/RAF (Supplier) and has previously worked within a similar role.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and co-ordinate the efficient transportation of materials and manage the timely flow of customer orders and requirements.

- Providing and maintaining good customer service and solve issues as they occur

- Administer Stock Control records in the Stores, to allocate stock to Sales orders and monitor Stock levels; return equipment to stock bins and maintain a tidy, safe and controlled stores area.

- Carry out the organisation of hire equipment allocation, service, exchange and off-hire. This will involve liaison with the Accounts team, Engineers and Customers to ensure all new hire contracts are raised and existing hire contracts are maintained.

- Adhere to shipping/receiving and regulatory-compliance procedures.

- Comply with laws, regulations and standards.

- Complete documentation such as pick lists, work orders and shipping orders using computer system.

- Complete daily shipping and receiving logs.

- Dispatch freight for delivery and arrange for pickups.

- Record shipment data such as weight, charges and damages.

- Contact carrier to make arrangements and to issue shipping instructions and delivery of materials

 - Rectify problems such as damages, shortages and non-conformance to specifications.

- Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping and receiving errors.

- Assist with training of new employees when the need arises.

- Complete safety reports in relation to health and safety issues.

- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships in your team, as well as cross-functionally.

- Liaise with customers and suppliers, maintaining a high level of customer service.

- Expedite customer orders and monitor shipments.

- To update and maintain the customer database.

- Ensure that all equipment is transported and stored with the required documentation as company policy.

- Recommend changes to ensure continuous improvement in line with company BSI accreditation.

- To be familiar with and fully compliant with Security requirements at all times.

Applicant Requirements: Essential:

- The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in warehouse organisation, materials handling or freight logistics.

- You must be able to use computers and associated software as well as communication devices, scanning equipment, packaging tools, weight measurement tools, hand trucks, tape wrapping equipment and trolley steps.

- Good communication skills, with the ability to interface with customers.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Team Player.
