My client currently has an opportunity for a Training Instructor to join their Astute-class Training Service team. Suitable for Category A Watchkeepers from the Royal Navy only, with comprehensive recent experience of Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant on preferably Astute Class Submarines. |
Responsibilities |
The role holder will act as an Instructor and subject matter expert, delivering classroom and simulator-based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers. Additional responsibilities will include providing specialist advice as necessary, assisting with the training design process and completing associated administrative duties. The anticipated salary for this role is £43,000 per annum. |
Qualifications & Requirements |
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate recent experience operating Naval Nuclear propulsion systems, preferably on Astute-class submarines. Reactor Core H experience would be an advantage. Ideally you would have previous experience of training delivery and hold either DIT or DTTT qualifications. Key areas of competency we require are as follows:

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements for which you will need to be a British National and you may be required to complete a medical assessment. |
This role is based at HMNB Clyde, located at Faslane, 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. They are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
Please note that Instructors are occasionally required to work at locations other than HMNB Clyde.
