Description :

A market-leading and award-winning company operating for over 30 years and specialising in irrigation and dirty water dispersal requires an Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer to be field service-based to join their team.

After an 18-24-month initial training period, the Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer will service and repair the Company’s range of irrigation equipment throughout the UK and be involved with building and pre-delivery work on new equipment.

It is essential applicants have an agricultural and/or mechanical engineering background. Motor industry or heavy machine/industrial experience will be considered. Candidates not possessing qualifications or experience in the above areas cannot be considered.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer will:

Be from an agricultural and/or /mechanical engineering background;
Be self-motivated and conscientious;
Possesses strong communication and customer service skills;
Appreciate that they will be representing the Company when visiting farms and will therefore be punctual, well-presented and courteous;
Be capable of working on their own initiative and as part of a small team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The majority of the work is factory-based and it is envisaged that, for the first 12-18 months in the role, the Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer will receive comprehensive product training as well as training on the use of all relevant on-site equipment.

Once fully trained in all areas, the Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer will visit client farms to service and repair the Company’s range of irrigation equipment throughout the UK.

HOURS

42-hour week, predominantly Monday – Friday. During busy times of year, the Agricultural & Irrigation Engineer will be expected to work some Saturdays. Overtime is available at reasonable rates and the company is very flexible in terms of coming to arrangements regarding days in lieu.

Salary: £26,000 + overtime (£30,000 OTE)
