Location:          Walsall and Field

Salary:             £35,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)

Holiday:           27 days holiday + Bank Holidays

 

An opportunity has arisen for an Hydraulics Engineer with extensive knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, to carry out fault-finding, repairs and servicing of heavy manufacturing presses.   

Our client manufactures metal presses primarily for the automotive industry and is seeking to appoint an Hydraulics Engineer to carry out PPM and servicing works at various client’s sites and their head office.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.

Standard hours are 8am to 5pm but flexibility is essential as travel mainly within the UK is required, however, if there are no requirement to work on a client’s site, the successful applicant will be expected to work from the headquarter based in Walsall.

The role will involve:

  • Covering the Walsall area servicing metal presses
  • Analysis of hydraulic systems and their documentation
  • Planning of repairs, retrofits, conversions, commissioning and modernisation of hydraulic presses
  • Carrying out maintenance, repair, rebuild, and refurbishment of presses, press components and press automation equipment either on customer premises or in the client’s own facility in Walsall.
  • A 3-month training program based in Germany.  You will be required to stay away for at least 2 months during this period.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Apprentice trained or similar in maintenance engineering / discipline
  • Extensive hydraulics knowledge (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Experience in designing circuitry (would be advantageous)
  • I.T. proficient
  • Team-orientated
  • Accuracy
  • Attention to details
  • German speaking (desirable)

The hydraulics engineer will work 5 days a week.

Salary:             £35,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)
