Priory Hospital Church Village is situated in Tonteg near Pontypridd in South Wales. The Hospital provides assessment and treatment for women between the ages of 18 and 65 with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have a borderline personality disorder and associated mental health problems.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Grade Doctor to join the team, providing cover across The Priory Hospital Church Village and Ty Catrin (Partnerships in Care)
Priory Hospital Church Village is a locked rehabilitation service, providing assessment and treatment for women between the ages of 18 and 65 with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have a personality disorder and associated mental health problems. The hospital had 10 beds on the main ward, with a 2 bedroom step down bungalow on site.
Ty Catrin is a low secure mental illness and personality disorder service for men and women who require a medium-term placement and recovery-orientated specialist treatment in order to progress on their care pathway towards rehabilitation care. The facility is split into six wards along with semi-independent flats onsite.
The post holder will work closely with our Consultant Psychiatrists and our multi-disciplinary team and be committed to providing quality patient focused care, comprehensive risk assessment and working to the highest standards. General Psychiatric experience is essential. The successful candidate will possess an MBBS qualification or equivalent and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).The role holder will have up to date experience of physical health monitoring and investigations including venepuncture and ECG’s. The role holder will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within secure or learning disability setting is desirable. The role holder will work closely with the hospitals multidisciplinary team to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme.
This position will involve working 2 days at each site. There is no requirement for on call.
