Annesley House is a low secure and locked recovery and rehabilitation service for women aged 18 years or older with a primary condition of mental illness and personality disorder. We work with women who are stepping down from secure services, or stepping up from community or other inpatient rehabilitation care.

Our High Dependency Unit supports patients who are of high risk to themselves and need more intensive care than is required in a standard inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Annesley House comprises of:

Durham ward - a low secure continuing care ward for women
Cambridge ward - a high dependency ward for women
Oxford ward - a community facing inpatient rehabilitation ward for women

Our Chef Worker role involves:

Professional Responsiblitites:

  • Participate in food purchasing through established procedures with an emphasis on cost and quality control.
  • Participate in food costings through effective cost control procedures.
  • Maintain good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and cook meals to a consistently high standard.
  • Present and package food as required for distribution.
  • To serve patients, staff and visitors with food and beverages in a professional and curtious services manner.
  • To assist with the checking of incoming supplies and putting them away in the designated storage areas.
  • Distribution and the service of foods
  • Preparing and producing foods for conferences and banquets
  • To ensure that all areas/equipment within the kitchen and onsite vending machines are cleaned to a high standard using appropriate chemicals following manufacturers instructions.
  • Supervise and manage commis chefs and catering assistants

To be successful as Chef you’ll need:

  • Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent English
  • Numeracy
  • Literacy
  • Good general standard of education (essential)
  • City & Guilds 706/1 or equivalent (essential) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
  • City & Guilds 706/2 or equivalent (essential) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
  • Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable)
  • Supervising qualification or working towards

Skills/Knowledge

  • A high level of numeracy (essential)
  • Able to communicate with patients, visitors and staff at all levels (essential)
  • Able to cope with ease under pressure (essential)
