The Fire & Security Manager will undertake to ensure all enquiries and subsequent quotations are dealt with as a matter of priority. Surveying, specifying products and supporting the design team will form part of the daily activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Departmental
- Survey, specify/design and quote for fire and security systems as required, in line with BAFE and SSAIB requirements.
- Quality check quotes produced within the operational department to ensure that they are viable, correctly costed, and compliant with both customer requirements and third-party accreditation.
- Ensure that the company has negotiated the best possible deal with suppliers and that gross margin targets are met.
- Offer professional advice on fire alarms and security systems.
- Develop business relationships with new and existing customers, passing any relevant leads to the sales department.
- Maintain all relevant records and reports, in line with client requirements and third party accreditations
- Produce necessary handover/commissioning paperwork in line with client requirements and third party accreditations.
- Prepare and assist with compliance and quality audits by official bodies including ISO 9001 2015.
- Supervise and monitor the quality of engineer’s installation work. Check project paperwork, carry out site visits, conduct spot checks and collate customer feedback
- Carry out effective performance management through regular 1-2-1’s and appraisals
- Actively develop Engineers to the highest standards, carrying out skills gap analysis and identify training opportunities as required.
- Update Alarm Master CRM system as per standard operating process, ensuring accurate notes are captured.
- Foster good communications with colleagues, members of the public, customers, suppliers and other third parties.
- Engage with suppliers to get the best prices and remain up to date with new equipment.
- Oversee and manage all electrical subcontractors.
- Liaise closely with customers before and during all installation and service work.
- To commit to continuous professional development and ongoing training.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Operations Manager.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Comply with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures, avoiding unsafe working.
- Report all accidents / incidents no matter how trivial.
- Ensure good general housekeeping in the office, the store, on customer’s premises and company vehicle.
- Ensure that your company vehicle is clean, maintained and in a roadworthy condition. Tyre pressures, oil and water to be checked and recorded regularly.
Personal & Team Responsibilities:
The Fire and Security Manager is expected to act as part of the team, working with and liaising with other departments. It is important that you are a ‘good role model’ for staff and customers and that you project a professional image at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Electrical / Electronics Experience – NVQ Level 3 Electrical or similar
- 17th Edition Certificate
- Experience of managing projects
- Excellent attention to detail
- CCNA Certified Engineer (desirable / not essential)
- Excellent team leadership skills.
- Customer service focussed.
Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 / annum (Relocation Support Available)
