Priory group are looking for passionate, professional and dedicated employees to work with children and young adults with autistic spectrum disorders and challenging behaviour.

As a member of our residential care team you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.

The homes operate a rolling rota which indicates shift patterns for the following 12 weeks. As a Bank Support Worker, you can pick up shifts on a weekly basis. A typical early shift would be 07:30-16:00, a late shift 15:30-22:00 and a waking night shift 21:45-07:45. We also offer the opportunity to earn an additional £35 for a sleep-in shift.

Most of our young people attend Oliver House School or Progress School, independent specialist day and residential schools for children aged 6 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders and associated complex learning needs and challenging behaviour.

Our aim is to enable every young person to have positive experiences and progress according to their individual abilities.

Candidates should be:

  • Patient, sociable and empathetic, in order to establish good relationships with our young people based on confidence, trust, understanding and mutual respect
  • Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for any number of reasons
  • Willing to assist in household maintenance tasks such as cleaning in order to maintain the high level of cleanliness expected within the children’s homes

References

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 5 years.

Please be advised that references will be requested prior to interview for all roles within our schools.

If you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
