The Company and the Role:
The Company provides radar technologies and capabilities of detecting the smallest of targets in clutter. The Company meets the surveillance, safety and security needs of a large variety of land and sea clients. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Senior Test Support Engineer to join the team at a site in North London.
As a Senior Test Support Engineer, you will be required to deliver test equipment support and techniques, through troubleshooting and utilizing your vast range of experience and knowledge.
You will use your broad range of skills and character to engage with, encourage and mentor the broad personalities within the team, which will require you to show leadership, problem resolution and able to complete tasks in a timely, informed and calm manner.
Using your knowledge and experience of Radio Frequency, as well as Material Requirements Planning and Design for Manufacturability, you will work closely with internal and external teams to make sure that testing and manufacturing is efficient and effective.
A really interesting part of the role is getting involved with and attending development design reviews and software release meetings, so that you share input to help better support the production of software and testing of hardware equipment.
Key Features of the Role:
The Senior Test Support Engineer will be required to use their active Test Support experience and Electronic industry knowledge on a daily basis.
Testing equipment and developing test solutions as well as test fixtures, so that you can fault-find complex electronic equipment to discreet component level.
You will support product test techniques for a diverse range of RF, Magnetron, Solid State, Analogue, Digital and computer based products, with a proactive team based approach.
You will ensure that test related manufacturing helpdesk issues are resolved, including root cause analysis and technical report writing.
You will take the lead in the change process, ensuring approval of all test related changes and manufacturing data is current and correct.
You will review and approve production test specifications.
You will carry out annual reviews and updates on MRP systems. As well as maintain test equipment calibration records within the MRP system, including the availability of equipment due for calibration (internal and external).
Knowledge and Skills:
As a Senior Test Support Engineer, you will need to be competent or fully competent in most or all aspects of RF, Magnetron, Microwave, Analogue, Digital and computer based products (and ideally solid-state products).
You will also need to have technical skills in Active Test Support with a wide range of test equipment, troubleshooting to Discreet Component Level. Understanding Mechanical Drawings and Circuit Drawings, along with Electro-Mechanical and PCB assembly.
You will require full competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, along with IFS to view documents and data for data entry or a similar operating system and able to use a CRM database such as PDM, Pandora and Merlin etc.
You will also need to be fully competent in all aspects of Quality Assurance, such as knowledge of Change Control Processes, Quality Systems, Company Processes, Configuration Management and Industry Standards.
Finally, you should have a competent knowledge of LEAN manufacturing tools and techniques, as well as implementation of LEAN manufacturing and knowledge of static-safe working practices.
