A specialist college within Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is seeking an individual with a background in electrical installations to join their growing team based in Basildon. The lecturer will provide instruction and assessment to students and apprentices while working with employers to effectively plan assessments, coaching and training activities both in the workplace and simulated environments. The ideal candidate will embody core values of Professionalism, Equality, Integrity and Accountability in their everyday work. Teacher training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver assessments of competence which meet the Ofsted criteria for ‘Good’ or better including the development of relevant resources
- Ensure accurate assessment and progressive feedback of learners’ work against criteria
- Work with employers, developing a training needs analysis which translates into further programmes
- Mapping of relevant awarding body assessment criteria to the employees workplace activity in conjunction with the employer and other relevant stakeholders
- Support the implementation of IAG, employer engagement and student progression
- Ensure the student’s work place environment is safe and secure with adherence to relevant health and safety risk assessments
- Create, maintain and analyse accurate data in relation to learners.
- Produce effective, accurate and current records to ensure that all parties are clear where each student is at any given time and how to progress further
- Respond to and support students’ additional needs with referral on to appropriate parties
- Embed and promote British Values and support and respond sensitively and empathically to student disclosures, observing confidentiality where appropriate and referring appropriately in the case of safeguarding.
- The ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to plan, promote and deliver training to adults including up skilling, updating qualifications and short course provision.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Have a minimum in level 3 qualifications in Electric Installation (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of Frameworks and Standards, customer service, Health & safety, Teaching Qualification, 5 years’ trade experience post qualification.
- Demonstrable and recent electrical sector experience, particular focus on installation, commissioning and service/repair.
Salary:
£32,884 - £35,967 (DOE) + benefits
