Description :

Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt.
They are currently seeking a Fire Sub Officer to be based at the South Camp located at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.  The position is offered on an 18 month renewable contract.
Reporting into the Fire Station Officer the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out fire prevention inspections, prevention, suppression and training requirements for both structural and aircraft fire, crash and rescue in accordance with our clients procedures and their end customers policies, regulations and instructions.
Specifically you will take command of all fires, accidents or other safety until relieved by a Senior Officer.
You will perform operational and training duties as required for day-to-day running of the Fire Station and will ensure that operational, maintenance and training records are properly maintained (including but not limited to property inventories, personnel, call-outs, inspections, preventive maintenance, investigations and fire extinguisher records).
You will ensure that all fire fighting equipment is maintained in a high state of readiness.
You will supervise the activities of Crew Chiefs and other assigned EN fire fighting personnel.
You will trouble shoot the fire alarm system, reporting faults and deficiencies and raising appropriate corrective work orders through the Fire Station Commander.
You will carry out fire alarm, extinguisher and fire prevention inspections as required and will implement the approved Fire Prevention program and enforce fire regulations; recommend corrective/remedial action through chain of command based on inspections or investigations.
You will carry out spot checks and inspections of duty fire fighting crews during silent hours.
You will encourage the development of leadership and professional skills of assigned fire fighting personnel through appropriate training, instruction, practical drills, physical fitness training and team building exercises.
You will ensure that assigned personnel are familiar with all areas of their assigned duty location and will conduct evacuation drills, fire and crash rescue drills, breathing apparatus drills in accordance with the training program.
You will conduct Fire Safety training for civilian and military personnel as required.
You will act as Fire Station Commander in the absence of the incumbent when so designated and will direct all assigned fire-fighters in performing required activities in accordance with relevant NFPA or equivalent UK standards or Generally Accepted Industry and Professional Standards.
Finally you will train Egyptian National personnel in accomplishing work in accordance with the approved On-Job-Training program.
To meet this unique challenge you will be an accomplished Fire Officer having gained your experience in either a local authority, civil aviation or a military fire service with experience at Leading Fireman / NCO level.
You must have fire prevention experience and be familiar with NFPA or UK recognized safety and fire regulations and must hold and maintain a current a valid HGV III driving license or equivalent.
Your practical experience should be supported by US High School / UK Secondary School graduate or military/fire service equivalent. 
You must have held at least Leading Fireman (civil) or NCO (military) rank and membership of a recognized professional Fire Prevention or Industrial Safety Organization is highly desirable.
You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals.   You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly.
Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments.
Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.
The basic salary is paid in the currency of your citizenship and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.
The R and R entitlement is 38 days over the 18 month contract plus 12 public holidays a year.  Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
